Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has released the November report for the Outlook for Principal field crops. The flax production for 2017/18 was revised up to 548,000 tonnes. The export estimate remains the same at 500,000 tonnes. Feed, waste and dockage was increased by 17,000 tonnes to 68,000 tonnes. The result is a higher carry-out stock of 180,000 tonnes going into the 2018/19 crop year. A large world vegetable oil supply and high flax production in Kazakhstan and Russia will keep pressure on flax prices.
